Months 13-17 on Testosterone
1 Year, 1 Month on Testosterone (13 Months)
February 7, 2006 : 13 Months
These updates seem to be happening faster and faster! I suppose that since I started passing as male I haven’t been focusing so much on what the testosterone does to my body. Initially, I watched virtually every second to see what changes were coming. Now I’ll look down and notice that a muscle has grown or there is more hair coming in but it is no longer the focus of all my attention. I’m glad that the testosterone made it’s effects so quickly and I’m glad that my chest surgery went well.

1 Year, 2 Months on Testosterone (14 Months)
March 7, 2006 : 14 Months
Each month is no longer such a landmark. There seems to be gradual changes that occur month-to-month. I am incredibly busy with school. Lately I have been preparing my applications, packets, and fiction samples. I’ll be taking the GRE soon and I plan to have all the material postmarked and sent by the beginnning of December. Unfortunately, school and grad school prep takes quite a bit of time, hence, these updates have been (and probably will continue to) suffering.
1 Year, 3 Months on Testosterone (15 Months)
April 7, 2006 : 15 Months
I have started working out a bit more. I’d like to gain some muscle in my pecs and perhaps work on my arms a bit more. We’ll see how this changes my appearance.
I’m currently working on my name change. If all goes well, I should be receiving my fingerprints back within a week, in which case I will go face the judge.
1 Year, 4 Months on Testosterone
May 7, 2006 : 16 Months
This month has been an awesome month (aside from the fact that my name change is not going so well). Nonetheless, I have been slowly changing my diet over the last couple years. I’ve never had a good diet. Some who know me wonder why I’m still alive, but yet, I am. Jesse started pushing vegetables (which I never ever ate before) and she cooks stuff other than spaghetti and Bran Flakes. In response to this I started eating Taco Bell and Kit-Kats at work every day but alas, it is slowly coming to a halt (well not the taco bell…). Anyway, Jesse started helping me with my diet about three years ago and little by little it has improved. Oddly enough, I haven’t lost any weight because of it. So for the last couple of months with the testosterone and good diet, I have had an energy boost. Suddenly I feel healthy and active. This has now culminated in regular workout sessions. So, for the last month I decided to try out weight lifting. I freakin’ love it. So, look at Month 15, and then look at month 16. Big difference huh? Yay!
For the last couple of months Jesse and I have not been, let’s say, so punctual on my shot schedule. This happened out of pure laziness. Instead of shooting up(lol) every 10 days, it spanned longer…15 days, 20 days… Nonethless, we have returned to the regular schedule. Not taking it on time had so many consequences. For instance, my voice didn’t continue to drop, my sex drive lowered, I became more lazy, and it seems that many of the changes I was regularly experiencing didn’t happen so regularly. After not taking the shots on time, I can honestly back up my choices to remain on hormones.
I sadly have to report, though, that I still have almost no hair on my arms. Boo-Hoo. Oh yes, and although I know the updates on this website are important to everyone (by those frequent emails), I just couldn’t stand it any longer. I’m sorry, but I just had to shave my legs. Leg hair smells…bad. I feel so much cleaner now.
I went to court to request my name change. I filed the petition in Harris County. I signed up on the docket and sat down in the courtroom. I became nervous and I think it showed in my ability to present myself. All in all, the judge asked me to return to court with an attorney. I’m not sure if he said this because I didn’t present my case correctly, if there was a paperwork problem, or if he was simply prejudice against my case.
After interviewing several attorneys over the phone, I settled on a lady that seems to be just what I am looking for. We did a phone consultation last night and I went in to her office today. She was very friendly and she looked over my documents. All in all, she said the documents I wrote up looked fantastic and she said there was only one minor thing that I may wish to change. I agreed to hire her. This week, she will pull my file at the courthouse and make sure that everything in it is in order
1 Year, 5 Months on Testosterone
June 7, 2006 : 17 Months on Testosterone
The biggest thing that happened this month was that Jesse and I broke up. I think a bit of our final days had to do with the transition but I honestly believe that whether I transitioned or not, Jesse and I still would have broken up. I say this for a number of reasons, but I much prefer to keep these details private. Nonetheless, we remain great friends and I love her for her continued support.
Physically, it has been a little bit more of everything. I posted the up close face pic here to show how my adams apple has become more pronounced.
My attorney, my father, and I went to court. My name change was granted! Woot! Apparently, I was probably turned down the first time because I didn’t state that I wasn’t evading creditors. This time, the main judge sent us across the hall to the associate judge. My attorney asked me some basic questions to verify my identity, the reason for choosing my name, and to verify my clear criminal record. This was a very happy day for me!
